Afro Textured Hair Coloring Level #2 builds upon foundational hair coloring principles with an advanced focus on Afro-textured hair. Students will deepen their knowledge of color theory, toning, lightening, and highlight/lowlight techniques specifically tailored to the needs of coily, curly, and high-porosity hair. Emphasis is placed on maintaining hair integrity, proper sectioning and application methods, advanced color formulation, and culturally sensitive client communication. This course empowers colorists to deliver customized, creative, and healthy color transformations for clients with Afro-textured hair.
- Gladys Afolayan
Gladys Afolayan (Calgary based) is a Afro Texture hair educator with over 20 years of industry experience. She is nationally recognized for her skill and creativity as a braiding and hair colour specialist. A certified and licensed cosmetology instructor and entrepreneur Gladys partnered with the Alberta provincial government to develop Canada’s first accredited Afro-textured hair curriculum to close the gap in the current education. As the founder of Kulture Beauty Collective and the Kulture Institute of Cosmetology, Gladys is passionate about creating inclusive experiences and interactions between stylists and clients from different cultural backgrounds.
