About the course

Gladys Afolayan

Gladys Afolayan is the Founder and Lead Educator of Kulture Institute of Cosmetology in Calgary, Alberta. Through years of salon experience, textured hair education, mentorship, and curriculum development, Gladys has become a strong advocate for texture-inclusive cosmetology education in Canada. Her work focuses on helping students and professionals confidently understand, care for, and work with Afro-textured hair while preserving hair integrity and cultural understanding. Kulture Institute was created to help bridge the gap between traditional cosmetology education and the growing need for inclusive beauty training.
